It's not the repairing of the actual drywall that is challenging; it's replicating the popcorn / orange peel texture on the wall to match. Huge shout-out to the pros who do this for a living, although it does help to have the right equipment. If you don't, like me, and you're a huge cheapskate, here's what worked (and what didn't) for me when fixing a large cutout hole in my drywall. Creative, but free and effective.
