This video shows how I can easily and quickly clean my dirty work respirator mask, straps, housings, and silicone or plastic facepieces. This mask is TEN years old (cartridges expire after 5 years, so be careful!) and was in desperate need of a DIY cleaning. I took apart the particle filter housings, removed the straps, and soaked everything in Dawn soap and water. I did NOT get the cartridge filters wet. Vacuumed the particle filters (very delicate!) and reassembled. Ultimately, I'll need to buy new filters/cartridges, but cleaning is easy to do!
