Renovating a shower? A stuck shower arm can be frustrating! If you have access to your shower studs behind wall, use a shim to brace the brass elbow drop ear as shown in the video. If you do NOT have access to the studs, brace the shower arm firmly with your hand at the base where it meets the wall as you turn to prevent tension on the elbow inside the wall. Let it soak in penetrating oil like WD-40 for an hour to help loosen the threads. To clean or remove old teflon tape, use a sharp tip or Dremel tool, taking care not to damage the threads. From there, you can move or relocate the brass elbow by unscrewing at the mounts and reattaching according to the measurements you need. Good luck!
