This video features How to Motorize Coolaroo Exterior Sun Shades PLUS Install Tips/Review. Forget the manual hand crank on these puppies! I bought 3 of these 4'x6' Coolaroo exterior roller shades on Amazon (✅ https://amzn.to/2MNU4uK ) and I'd rather spend my time relaxing *UNDER* them versus my arm muscles seizing up while raising and lowering them. I converted the wand to easily fit into my impact driver (or cordless screwdriver) using a universal drill bit (✅ https://amzn.to/2LamBZs ) and a simple handle modification. Voila! Also, if you're wondering about the wall-to-wall width, I either added a piece of wood or notched out behind the brackets with my Dremel tool, which were either wider or narrower than the recommended width. The hooks stick out quite a bit and knocked against the posts, so I switched them out with an i-bolt (or you can "squeeze" the hooks using a table vice). Overall, we LOVE these shades, especially after these easy modifications!
